Meet Pastor Dan Schlensker
Pastor Dan Schlensker was born in Evansville, IN. His early schooling was at Trinity Lutheran School in Darmstadt, IN. After high school he attended Concordia Teachers College (now Concordia University Chicago) and became a Lutheran High School teacher. Before his last year of college, he and Carol Elbert were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle, IL. He was called to teach at St. John Lutheran High School in Ocala, FL, Valley Lutheran High School in Saginaw, MI, Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, IL, Hong Kong International School in HK, and Sacramento Lutheran High School in Sacramento, CA. He then engaged in seminary education and was ordained into pastoral ministry in 1999. His first pastoral call was to Our Faith Lutheran Church in Davis, CA, and he subsequently served as pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Crescent City, CA, and currently serves at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lake Isabella, CA. He and Carol celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2021. He enjoys family gatherings, wood working, gardening, singing, and taking long walks with his dog.
